The graduation party was delicious! I finally had really island grind with a big community of big people I didn't know. We didn't see Ocean's 13 last night though, but I did meet up with Deborah and went back to Wailuku (other side of the island) while Mei was over there. I was supposed to go back with Mei once the thing she went to over there was done but I ended up staying with Deb.
Her parents cook the best island style food! Even though I ate at the grad party, I ate a nother whole meal with cheesecake, vanilla ice cream, and guava jelly for desert. And that was even more delicious than the party!
The two of us watched the movie Blood Diamond in the house and then got in the car where we drove around the city of Wailuku for 3 hours. Whoosh! That is such a strange city. They have really nice homes and neighborhoods, and then they host the biggest ghetto on the island, Central. Just the name of it gives a reaking odre. We picked up this guy I met earlier who is super nice but we found out later that he was wanted by the police earlier that day. I guess his girlfriend ran away, who he empregnated by the way and she's 14, and was staying at his appartment. Everyone who knew her thought she was kidnapped so they feared that he did it. I also learned that night that he used to steal cars in the nicer parts of Wailuku. We had to get gas at one point in the night and I was going to go in and pay cash for it. Deborah said "Only put $10 in, OK?" And he said, "Can you buy me a Monster?" as he handed me a $20. Then he said, "Can you also get the wanted sign inside of me and my girlfriend? It's a really good picture of the two of us." Shoots.
I had to say goodbye to everyone I met at church this morning. In the process, I almost made Mei Lan late for work at 1pm but it ended up being OK. Her little brother, our friend from church, and I went to go visit her and we got hooked up with wristbands to the pool.
Tonight I had the most scrumptious food! Mei, myself and 3 other girls went to Roy's to use a $50 gift certificate that I got from the cruise line for working so hard on the boat. One of the girls works there so we also got 50% off! I ordered $30 Lemongrass Crusted Ono and a French pear salad for my dinner! It was such a beautiful presentation that I took a picture of it even though I never do that. We got two euntres and all of our desserts on the house because they knew this girl and they kept running out of fish! So the bill was only $75. That meens we only spent $150 at this restaurant! I was totally expecting it to be so much more.
